About
HI, I'M BETH.
I'm Beth and I’m the Designer / Maker behind moth + saw jewellery. I create Jewellery that transcends time using the ancient method of lost wax casting that has a history spanning more than five millennia. With a creative background, I studied Jewellery Design for three years in London and am now an artist in residence and tutor at the Frensham Old Barn Workshop, all of which has led me to start my own jewellery brand in 2023.
MY APPROACH
With most of my pieces, I start off with a special jewellers wax. I use a combination of carving and melting to create an organic feel in my jewellery. I love embracing the natural flaws and variations that occur in waxwork, this allows me to create pieces that are truly different from one another and full of character, making it a truly special one-of-a-kind process from wax to the final product. All of my pieces are made from 100% recycled sterling silver to support sustainable jewellery practices and to reduce my impact on the environment.
GOLD VERMEIL
I offer a range of pieces in both silver and gold vermeil. Each Gold Vermeil piece has a base metal of sterling silver and is plated with 18ct Gold. Gold Vermeil is roughly 2.5 microns thick, whereas gold plating is only 0.5 microns. This making Gold Vermeil far more durable than gold plating, ensuring a more quality and luxury piece for an affordable price!
